Liz Poole was also busy on the rostrum on the evening of 15th May at The Northwick Manor Primary School in Worcester. She sold family days out to fun places such as the West Midlands Safari park, a weeks stay in a Florida villa for 8 people and even promises of baby sitting and beautiful Birthday cakes. All who attended had a great evening with wine tasting before the sale and the final total raised was in excess of £3,300!
Lindsey donated her time on June 5th to a charity auction in aid of Motor Neurone Disease at Highnam Court. Lindsey Braune auctioneered on Saturday 2nd May at The Stroud House Gallery for Sarah's Trust. The result of this sale of vibrant modern art was a total of £16,000 !
Damien Hirst and other high profile artists joined force with a group of friends to raise money for Sarah Vacara (36), a mother of three, who was diagnosed with inoperable and incurable cancer and needed funds for pioneering cancer treatment. The exhibition at the Stroud House Gallery showcased exclusive items donated by a wide range of artists. Damien Hirst donated a signed copy of 'The Making of the Diamond Skull' and others such as Dan Chadwick, Greg Tricker and Chloe Mussiare donated exciting pieces.
Lindsey Braune was also the lucky auctioneer allocated the task of selling 36 frogs at a lively event held in Brimscombe near Stroud in aid of Cancer Research UK in September. An unusual fund-raising event, this involved 7 nail-biting races of cardboard frogs - great skill required here - with much rivalry between teams and attendant betting. The auctioneer was lucky not to lose her voice!
Henry Meadows was the guest valuer at the Antique Valuations and Autumn Fayre held at the Elm Grove Nursing Home, Cirencester on 3rd October.
